I grew up camping. When I was very little my parents brought my sister and I camping. We started in one of those dome green tents sleeping every other direction so we just fit. It was very uncomfortable and there was a lot of complaining but they are wonderful memories. As we got older my parents upgraded from tent, to pop up, to pull behind travel trailer, and now my parents own a king fifth wheel toy hauler. My parents bought the king trailer when I was an adult and to this day I still haven’t seen it fully open with all the bells and whistles it has. From what I remember most was the pop-up and the travel trailer. We saw most of the Midwest during my teenage years and I have wonderful memories from it.
When the kids were young is when we first started camping. We started out in a fairly nice tent. We had young kids where one was just starting to bathroom train and the other was still in diapers. How were we going to keep all of our stuff and diapers from getting wet and not completely miserable. Plus wanted to start passing on memories from it. So we found this pretty could two room canopy tent. We setup two queen mattress, pop-up bathroom, then put their bags along the side of the mattress to keep them safe. At night we would set up the room diving curtain and budgie back some of the bottom so we could run an oscillating fan/heater. The tent had two doors but we had the pop-up toilet on the kids side of the tent and we were able to prevent them from going in. Then we loved having a portable table outside for prepping foods or holding snacks.
